I feel a little like a broken record telling people that this is the most important election of our lives. But the truth is, every election is the most important election of our lives because of what is at stake every year. 

As a member of the NC House of Representatives, I see firsthand the blatant attacks on our environment, the assault on our democracy, and how the supermajority has worked at every turn to rig the rules in order to hold on to their power.

And for what? The budget last session nearly derailed because one person in power wanted casinos. A budget that, had it not passed, would have meant less funding for the Department of Environmental Quality to ensure water and air protections and less funding for those who have the most need and the least access. That isn’t how you run North Carolina!

I know, like me, you care about the environment. But I also know that you care about the right to free and fair elections.

The North Carolina League of Conservation Voters cares about all of these things, too, which is why I am proud not to just have received their endorsement, but also to support them. With our support, they are working hard every day to elect pro-conservation candidates and hold our elected leaders accountable for the things that we know make North Carolina a great place to work, live, and raise a family. NCLCV also works to educate voters and register new voters.
