Instead of a dehumanizing narrative of fear, we call for kindness.
The global migration tragedy uproots families and leads to trauma, violence, and hunger. In response, Quixote Center and our partners are:
* Establishing a permanent presence for spiritual accompaniment and human rights observation, at Panama's Darien Gap;
* Supporting a shelter for migrants with medical needs and who cannot continue their journey, in central Panama;
* Establishing a new shelter in central Mexico to shield vulnerable migrants from the cartels while they wait for their asylum appointments;
* Advocating for policies that will end the trafficking of arms and ammunition to gangs and cartels across Latin America and the Caribbean, to eliminate a key root cause of forced migration.
Woven into each of these initiatives is dignity, humanity, and kindness.
Thanks to your generous contributions, we already were able to send urgently needed funds to our partners in Mexico as they move forward towards inaugurating a new shelter in the center of the country.
You can help us in our mission to bring forth kindness by donating to our work. Today only, our generous supporters have offered a $2000 match, meaning that your donation will double until we reach the $2000 threshold.
Thank you for your support!
