Instead of a dehumanizing narrative of fear, we call for kindness.

The global migration tragedy uproots families and leads to trauma, violence, and hunger. In response, Quixote Center and our partners are:

• Establishing a permanent presence for spiritual accompaniment and human rights observation, at Panama's Darien Gap;
• Supporting a shelter for migrants with medical needs and who cannot continue their journey, in central Panama;
• Establishing a new shelter in central Mexico to shield vulnerable migrants from the cartels while they wait for their asylum appointments;
• Advocating for policies that will end the trafficking of arms and ammunition to gangs and cartels across Latin America and the Caribbean, to eliminate a key root cause of forced migration.

Woven into each of these initiatives is dignity, humanity, and kindness.
