When I was in my early twenties, I decided to be on birth control. My doctor educated me about my options and I chose to have the implant, a long term, reversible contraceptive. It was the right choice for me and I'm glad that I could take care of myself.

With less than 30 days until Election Day, I've been thinking a lot about the line of women that I come from and their ability to make their own health care decisions.

My grandma grew up before Roe v. Wade and women relied on "back alley abortions." When my mom needed a D+C to complete a miscarriage, she could get the care she needed. Now, thanks to Donald Trump, my ability to get care depends on the state I am in.

This election comes down to one choice: Do we want the ability to make our own decisions in our own doctors' offices or do we want the government to make those decisions for us?

I will always fight for our ability to make our own decisions. Join me and fellow Planned Parenthood Action Fund members on October 18-20 to make sure that all of our neighbors know what is at stake this election.

For all the women, girls, and people capable of pregnancy that come after us, let's go win this.
