We’re making sure you saw this urgent update on our emergency response efforts after Hurricane Milton struck Florida on Wednesday.
Thousands of National Guard members have received emergency deployment orders in the past three weeks — with Hurricane Helene recovery in the Southeast and response to Hurricane Milton in Florida.
They’re working around the clock to support affected communities at this urgent moment, and the USO is determined to be there with them every step of the way.
We missed our initial emergency-response goal of $50,000 to support our service members in this critical moment — but we’re extending our deadline to try to make up the gap. Please, will you rush an emergency donation of $29 or more to support our heroes and help us reach our $50,000 goal by midnight?*

Subject: Hurricane Milton Update:
BREAKING: Thousands of National Guard and active duty service members responding to Hurricane Milton need our support.
Will you rush an emergency donation of $29 or more to support our heroes around the world at this critical moment?*
Last night, Hurricane Milton struck Florida as a Category 3 storm, bringing with it a massive storm surge, catastrophic tornadoes and devastating flooding.
While the worst of the damage is still being assessed and this is a rapidly developing situation, we know many of the affected communities were still recovering from Hurricane Helene less than two weeks ago, making this storm’s impact even worse.
Thousands of National Guard members are still working to help communities recover from Hurricane Helene. Now, thousands more are being deployed to Florida from all over the country to conduct search and rescue missions, clear debris and provide lifesaving aid to communities in urgent need.
In times of increased need, the USO’s work to support and uplift service members is more important than ever — but to scale up our work in moments of crisis, we rely on generous people like you. Please, will you give $29 or more now to support our heroes around the world at this urgent moment and into the future?
The USO is the only nonprofit organization that goes wherever our service members do — from communities devastated by hurricanes, wildfires and other disasters across the United States to conflict zones around the world.
Right now, our teams are actively working to assess the needs of service members in Florida — including National Guard members deployed in response to this emergency and military families stationed in the affected communities. We’re ready to do whatever it takes to support them, from providing water and basic hygiene items to making sure they have the ability to connect with their loved ones.
Your support makes all that and more possible, so please: Will you rush $29 or more now to help reach our $50,000 rapid-response goal by midnight so we can support all of our heroes, including those responding to this emergency?
We’ll continue to keep you updated as this ongoing situation develops — for now, thank you for helping the USO be there for service members and their families when they need us most.
