On this World Mental Health Day, we’re bringing critical attention to the mental health challenges faced by LGBTQ+ young people. According to our 2024 U.S. National Survey ([link removed](i.e.e-newsletter)&utm_source=emailsegment-wholefile1&utm_campaign=generaleffort) , over half of LGBTQ+ youth who wanted mental health care couldn’t access it last year. Stigma remains one of the greatest barriers to seeking support, but with your help, we can create a world where everyone feels safe asking for help.
Supportive adults can make a powerful impact by reducing stigma and fostering environments where LGBTQ+ youth feel seen and valued. Whether it's advocating for access to affirming care, speaking openly about mental health, or creating inclusive spaces, every action counts.
One of the most profound ways to understand the effects of stigma—and how to overcome it—is to hear the personal stories of those who’ve navigated it firsthand. We invite you to explore two personal journeys that shed light on navigating mental health challenges, both through social media and within a family and the lessons they’ve each learned along the way.
