John, we have one week to stop the execution of Robert Roberson. Please contact Gov. Abbott now at 361-264-9653 and URGE him to stop Texas from making an irreversible mistake.

Here’s where we are with Robert’s case:
FIRST: Robert was wrongfully convicted of a crime that never happened, and because of this, he has spent over 20 years on Texas death row.
THEN: Despite new scientific and medical evidence proving that Robert’s chronically ill daughter, Nikki, died of natural and accidental causes, not homicide, the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals denied Robert’s application for a writ of habeas corpus and motion for a stay of execution.
NOW: Robert is scheduled to be executed on Oct. 17 unless the courts or Gov. Abbott intervene. That’s why we’re asking him to grant Robert clemency.
John: We’re asking you to please call and share Robert’s story as much as you can. We need Gov. Abbott to make the right decision and save an innocent father’s life. So please:
Call Gov. Abbott

The Innocence Project works to free the innocent, prevent wrongful convictions, and create fair, compassionate, and equitable systems of justice for everyone. Founded in 1992 by Barry C. Scheck and Peter J. Neufeld at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University, the organization is now an independent nonprofit. Our work is guided by science and grounded in anti-racism.
