Let me tell you a quick story about how we shut down the oil and gas company Prospect Energy because of donations from people like you.

Almost four years ago Von Bortz and his neighbors reached out to Andrew Klooster at Earthworks looking for help. Prospect Energy was running wells in their Colorado neighborhood. The toxic emissions were poisoning people like Von, making them sick with a hacking cough, severe headaches and nausea.

This community was at high risk of many more people being poisoned. But local and state governments wouldn’t act without proof.

We got to work. Over the next 36+ months, Earthworks launched a sustained, intensive investigation into Prospect Energy’s pollution. We documented evidence with our Optical Gas Imaging (OGI) cameras, filed complaints with the state, and organized local leaders and residents for political change.

We won! Prospect Energy is now shut down in Colorado.
