Almost four years ago Von Bortz and his neighbors reached out to Andrew Klooster at Earthworks looking for help. Prospect Energy was running wells in their Colorado neighborhood. The toxic emissions were poisoning people like Von, making them sick with a hacking cough, severe headaches and nausea.

This community was at high risk of many more people being poisoned. But local and state governments wouldn’t act without proof.
