Tennessee’s highest court hears challenge to state legislative maps

Voters argue that lawmakers unnecessarily split counties and did not properly number districts. * Washington Gov. Jay Inslee’s (D) announcement that he wouldn’t run for a fourth term left an open seat to lead the Evergreen State for the first time in over 10 years. Bob Ferguson, Washington’s Democratic attorney general, is now seeking the governorship.
* Ferguson rose to prominence at the onset of former President Donald Trump taking the White House.
