The impact of Hurricane Helene on animals is devastating. Please give now.

Friend,
Hurricane Helene, the Category 4 storm that slammed the US East Coast last weekend, left widespread destruction in its path. The images and stories emerging are heartbreaking. The storm killed more than 150 people to date — and likely thousands of animals.

World Animal Protection US is partnering with Ziggy's Refuge, Flying Pigs Sanctuary, and Asheville Humane Society to provide direct animal relief and rescue.

We’re also using our voice to call out factory farming companies that are accountable for increasing our risk of climate disasters and for the deaths of farmed animals trapped during the hurricane. Because sadly, leaving farmed animals behind in locked cages and shuttered sheds is not new. It was reported that 3.4 million chickens and turkeys and more than 5,500 pigs died during Hurricane Florence in 2018. And while the numbers are still coming in, we expect similar loss of animal life from Hurricane Helene.

In response to such devastation, World Animal Protection US has activated our Disaster Response Fund. Our Fund builds on our 70-year legacy of rescuing and protecting animals affected by disasters through support for partner organizations on the ground, which provide critical aid to animals following disaster events. Can you help with a donation today?

Your donation will support our partner relief efforts and help us spread the message about the devastating impact of factory farming on climate change – one of the biggest global emissions contributors. Your support can also demand that the government set policies that protect vulnerable animals. Action must be taken to end the use of cages for animals and require a detailed disaster preparedness plan from every farm.

Friend, please give now to protect animals in disasters and beyond. Because this rescue fund is more than a beacon of relief; it's a promise to every animal that we won't turn away when disaster strikes. And it’s a promise that when an immediate emergency subsides, we will continue to speak up for animals.
Sincerely,

Your World Animal Protection US Team
