Industrial Symbiosis Program grant application open now through Nov. 1
Commerce has grant funding available through the *Industrial Symbiosis Program (ISP)* to support projects that advance the concept that economic growth does not have to equal waste, supporting the directives of the Legislature in RCW 43.31.625 [ [link removed] ].
This program is a catalyst for transforming industrial waste from one industry to a valuable product in another, stimulating job creation and economic development, and contributing to a cleaner future for Washington.
Since 2021, Commerce has awarded $1.85 million in grant funding to support beneficial projects to reduce industrial waste and stimulate recycling innovation as outlined in RCW 43.31.635 [ [link removed] ].
*This is a competitive funding opportunity*. Applicants may apply for $150,000 to $500,000 per project, with Commerce expecting to issue multiple grant awards across Washington state.
*Who is eligible? *
This grant is open to any private, non-profit, tribal, or public/government entity taking steps to reduce, reuse, or eliminate industrial waste to benefit Washington’s circular economy.
