SEPTEMBER 2024

Dear John,

In September, Population Matters spent a successful few days at the United Nations Summit of the Future in New York. We connected with inspiring individuals, attended thought-provoking sessions and hosted a successful hybrid side event. Notably, the Pact for the Future was adopted, and thanks to our collaboration with US-partners Population Connection and Population Media Center, a reference to population growth was included in the text.

We also launched an exciting new project exploring alternative economic models. Our current growth-based system has significant flaws - endless growth on a finite planet is unsustainable and inequality is deeply embedded. Over the course of 12 weeks, we will research alternatives, sharing our findings across our website, email and social media channels.

Finally, we have an exciting fundraising campaign coming up in December. Find out below how you can have your donation to Population Matters doubled!
