John, a typical Vice Presidential Debate doesn't always pack this type of heat. But with just 36 days before the election, this one promises to be anything but typical.
Let's start with this: Governor Tim Walz could not be more different from J.D. Vance.
Walz has served his country his entire life: He served in the National Guard, as a teacher, a Congressman, and Minnesota's Governor. Under his leadership, he protected abortion rights for Minnesotans, made historic investments in wind and solar energy, supported our veterans, signed a bill that gauranteed free lunch school meals for children, and so much more. He has been a tireless champion for Democratic values.
J.D. Vance has only served himself: He wrote a book poking fun at Appalachia, sold the movie rights to Netflix, and became a venture capitalist. His most recent claim to fame was spreading lies about Haitian immigrants eating dogs and cats.
This debate is about the Harris-Walz plan to move America forward and the Trump-Vance/Project 2025 plan to turn back the clocks.
