The latest on what's happening with right-of-center women   Weekly Wrap September 27, 2024 This Week's Highlights     Monday As a mom, Navy helicopter pilot, and nurse practitioner, fighting for our kids and their health care has always been personal to Rep. Jen Kiggans (VA-02). That is particularly true for the children of our military men and women. Kiggans celebrated the passage of legislation she authored to help many of those children receive the care they need. Her bipartisan Care For Military Kids Act "aims to ensure servicemembers can maintain critical healthcare coverage and medical services for their children no matter where their service takes them. Tuesday Since the deeply flawed measure went into effect, Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer (OR-05) has criticized her state's infamous Measure 110, which decriminalized most controlled substances, including fentanyl. Her campaign launched a new ad featuring local law enforcement officials who praise her work to overturn it and make Oregon communities safer. Her opponent, liberal State Rep. Janelle Bynum, is a soft-on-crime Democrat who supported Measure 110. In the legislature, Bynum introduced extreme legislation backed by defund-the-police activists, which stands in stark contrast to Chavez-DeRemer's support for law enforcement. Wednesday WFW AF-backed Alison Esposito (NY-18) is also out with a new ad this week attacking the Democrats' soft-on-crime policies and their push to defund the police. Esposito is the daughter of a former NYPD police chief who served nearly 25 years in the NYPD herself, and she is fighting to replace liberal Democrat Rep. Pat Ryan. If elected, she will be a reliable vote to support the brave men and women in law enforcement who keep our communities safe. Thursday Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks’ (IA-01) shared that she met with the mother of Army Staff Sgt. Ryan Knauss. Knauss tragically lost his life during the Biden-Harris administration's disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021. In an op-ed she wrote recently, Miller-Meeks criticized the administration's record on foreign policy: "This administration’s approach to national security has been characterized by naivety, weakness and recklessness, resulting in avoidable tragedies and a dangerous resurgence of global terrorism."   In The News   The Washington Free Beacon: House Dems Peddle False Abortion Attack in Quest To Flip Lower Chamber The New York Post: Democrats Are Lying: Republicans In Hotly Contested Races Support IVF Availability: ‘Promotes More Babies And Strong Families’ Fox News: Rep.
