in Brighton!
We heard inspiring speeches from Ed Davey MP and other key figures, passed
new policies, and celebrated with our new MPs at the Conference Rally. There
were many memorable moments, including Ed’s vision for the future of the Lib
Dems and Daisy Cooper’s emotional call to save the NHS.

New Liberal Democrat frontbench
Last week, Ed Davey MP appointed a new Lib Dem frontbench to champion the
public’s priorities and fight for a Fair Deal.
Daisy Cooper MP, our Deputy Leader, now leads on the Treasury, focussing on
the cost of living and clearing up the Conservatives’ economic mess. Helen
Morgan MP will champion our plans to save the NHS and fix the social care
crisis as Health and Social Care Spokesperson, while Tim Farron MP will address
the sewage scandal, continuing on Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
New MPs stepping up include Lisa Smart for Home Affairs, Calum Miller for
Foreign Affairs, and Pippa Heylings for Energy Security and Net Zero.

Protecting pensioners this winter
Earlier this month, the Liberal Democrats voted against the Government’s

<[link removed]>
, and over half will heat their homes less this winter.
While we recognise the tough economic situation left by the last Conservative
Government, cutting Winter Fuel Payments will make things harder for millions
of pensioners who are already struggling to make ends meet.
Before the vote, Ed Davey MP urged the Government to reconsider during Prime
Minister’s Questions:
