Today, Iowa Democrats have the fewest number of Senators and House members in nearly fifty years. A historic moment, and not in a good way. We are holding on to 52 out of the 150 seats in the state legislature — the fewest seats we've held since 1972. That's fifty-two years, longer than I've been alive!

So here's the truth: When Democrats invest in rural areas, they win elections.

And when Democrats fail to campaign in rural areas and invest in our communities, far-right extremism festers and builds until people like Kim Reynolds and my opponent are all that's left. This is why, when we put up a fight, invest in rural Democrats, and Stand Tall for our community, we're able to win elections and stop extremists in their tracks.

Our movement is about connecting with voters, building bridges with communities, and empowering hard-working families. These are the values that rural voters stand by — not the extremist dogma of far-right Republicans — and that's why we can be successful in this year's election.
