Dear friend,

It’s Dr. Una S.T. Clarke —

I’ve seen a lot in my life. As an immigrant from Jamaica, I’ve lived the American dream. As a mother, I’m so proud of all Yvette has — and is achieving — for our Brooklyn community.

That’s why I asked Yvette for this opportunity to reach out to you today.

I believe 2024 is the most important election of our time. When I hear one of the presidential candidates and his partner make nasty and degrading comments about legal immigrants from Haiti, that’s personal for me.

When I hear that same candidate and his Vice Presidential pick threatening to gut affordable healthcare and limit reproductive freedom, that’s personal for me.

And when Mr. Trump talks about “Black jobs” in a demeaning and racist way, that’s personal for me, friend.

America is better than that. Americans are better than that.

It’s not a time for anger and hate and division, friend. It’s a time for us to build community and work together for the common good.

Mr. Trump and Mr. Vance have lost sight of the greatness of America. They have forgotten — or choose to ignore — that it is immigrants of all backgrounds, ethnicities, religions, heritage, women, and men working together who built America — and we will continue to do so because we’re proud of our country.

Friend, you and I know there’s a lot at stake in this election. Please don’t stand on the sidelines. Get involved. Vote. It’s time to turn the page. [[link removed]]

Thank you for supporting Yvette. It means the world to me.

Sincerely,

Dr. Una S.T. Clarke
Proud Mom, Proud American
