Since we started emailing you about the 26 chimps being housed at a government research laboratory, we have found out that two more chimps have died. Meaning that now 20 chimps have died waiting for the National Institutes of Health to move them to Chimp Haven, a forested sanctuary designed specifically for their needs. Before he came to Chimp Haven, Bryan had never been part of a real community of chimps. He spent much of his life confined to a laboratory with other male chimpanzees, enduring endless experiments that drained his energy, health and joy. But at Chimp Haven, Bryan is forging new relationships and stepping up as a kind and confident leader.

Bryan isn’t the only chimp who’s thriving in his new home. His friend Devon, rescued from the same research facility, is always by his side.
