Resources and emergency assistance for veterans, property tax relief programs topics of meeting Oct. 1
South Kitsap community members are invited to attend the October 1 meeting of the Manchester Community Advisory Council to learn about resources, emergency assistance and resources available to local veterans. The meeting also features a presentation on property tax exemptions and relief programs. There will be time to ask questions and hear about other council and community activities. The meeting takes place 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Manchester Library, 8067 E. Main Street [ [link removed] ].
Rick Becker, program coordinator of the Kitsap County Veterans Assistance Program [ [link removed] ], will share information about services offered for veterans, their families and to active-duty military who will be leaving the service soon; activities of the Kitsap County Veterans Advisory Board [ [link removed] ]; and an overview of the county's _Veterans Emergency Assistance program. [ [link removed] ]_
Christina Mercurio and Kristin Kinas from the Kitsap County Assessor's Office will give a
presentation on the property tax exemptions and deferral programs [ [link removed] ] for seniors, people with disabilities and those with limited income..
The public is welcome and encouraged to attend. MCAC meetings are a great way to stay up to date on what's happening and find out how to get involved to help improve the community.
