Resources and emergency assistance for veterans, property tax relief programs topics of meeting Oct. 1
South Kitsap community members are invited to attend the October 1 meeting of the Manchester Community Advisory Council to learn about resources, emergency assistance and resources available to local veterans. The meeting also features a presentation on property tax exemptions and relief programs. There will be time to ask questions and hear about other council and community activities. The meeting takes place 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Manchester Library, 8067 E. Main Street.
Rick Becker, program coordinator of the Kitsap County Veterans Assistance Program, will share information about services offered for veterans, their families and to active-duty military who will be leaving the service soon; activities of the Kitsap County Veterans Advisory Board; and an overview of the county's Veterans Emergency Assistance program.
Christina Mercurio and Kristin Kinas from the Kitsap County Assessor's Office will give a presentation on the property tax exemptions and deferral programs for seniors, people with disabilities and those with limited income..
The public is welcome and encouraged to attend. MCAC meetings are a great way to stay up to date on what's happening and find out how to get involved to help improve the community.
