The New York City Comptroller's Office cordially invites you to our 2024 Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration on Wednesday, October 9 at the United Palace.
The theme of this year's National Hispanic Heritage Month is " Pioneers of Change: Shaping the Future Together ," which seeks to capture the "spirit of innovation, strength, and unity" of the Latine experience.
Together, with New York City Comptroller Brad Lander , Executive Comptroller Sandra Abeles , and Councilmember Carmen De La Rosa , w e will break bread, enjoy the art of Annette A. Aguilar, Dr. Eli Yamin, Tony Castillo, and Dance Project of Washington Heights, directed by Heather Godfrey, and celebrate and honor Latine New Yorkers who, through their dedication and commitment to serving our Latine communities, help us forge a better collective future.

This Hispanic Heritage Month, the Office of the New York City Comptroller wanted to create something that all communities could interact with and learn from. So, we released this Latine Fact Sheet [[link removed]] to share some statistics and information about the Latine population in New York State and New York City.
We have chosen to use the term "Latine" because it represents an evolving language that more accurately reflects the diversity of backgrounds and gender identities encompassed by the diverse and extensive Latine diaspora.
By using the term Latine, we hope that all people who identify as Latinos, Latinas, Hispanics, Trans and Latin Americans can see themselves.

Aguilar, Dr. Eli Yamin, Tony Castillo, y Dance Project of Washington Heights, dirigido por Heather Godfrey, y celebraremos y rendiremos homenaje a neoyorquinos Latines quienes, a través de su dedicación y empeño en servicio de nuestras comunidades, nos ayudan a forjar un mejor futuro colectivo.

Este Mes de la Herencia Hispana, la Oficina del Contralor de la Ciudad de Nueva York quiso crear algo con lo cual todas las comunidades pudiesen interactuar y aprender. Por eso, lanzamos esta Hoja Informativa Latine [[link removed]] para compartir algunas estadísticas e información sobre la población Latine en el estado de Nueva York y la Ciudad de Nueva York.
Hemos elegido utilizar el término "Latine" porque representa un lenguaje en evolución que refleja más precisamente la diversidad de orígenes e identidades de género abarcadas por la diversa y extensa diáspora Latine. Al utilizar el término Latine, esperamos que todas las personas que se identifican como Latinos, Latinas, Hispanos, Trans y Latinoamericanos puedan verse reflejadas.
