It feels like every week, there is a new scandal, a new resignation of key leadership, a new indictment. New Yorkers are losing faith in their government and their institutions, and that erodes further with every new headline.

We deserve better and that’s why I am running: to make sure our neighbors get the strong, competent, and ethical leadership they deserve and can depend on.

When I think back to this night, I am not going to remember the tweets. I am going to remember the parents who spoke to me about raising their kids in this city. I am going to remember my team working all day to help us reach our goals. I am going to remember the volunteers who came from Coney Island and Staten Island all the way to Queens to make sure our message reaches as many voters as possible.
