Dear friend,

Tonight, while we were having our first volunteer event for the campaign, I saw this:

Tweet from Katie Honan (@katie_honan): “When you fight on behalf of New York, things happen,” @NYCMayor says at town hall in the Bronx, vaguely addressing multiple federal investigations into his admin."

Never once in my nearly 20 years of public service have I seen bribery just “happen.”

It feels like every week, there is a new scandal, a new resignation of key leadership, a new indictment. New Yorkers are losing faith in their government and their institutions, and that erodes further with every new headline.

We deserve better and that’s why I am running: to make sure our neighbors get the strong, competent, and ethical leadership they deserve and can depend on.

It is going to be a fight, but I am not afraid. Together, we’ve taken on the toughest battles and won. I am asking you to join me in the fight on this campaign.

This campaign isn’t fueled by foreign governments or complex schemes — it’s powered by everyday New Yorkers like you. Can you give today?

When I think back to this night, I am not going to remember the tweets. I am going to remember the parents who spoke to me about raising their kids in this city. I am going to remember my team working all day to help us reach our goals. I am going to remember the volunteers who came from Coney Island and Staten Island all the way to Queens to make sure our message reaches as many voters as possible.

Jessica Ramos stands with two volunteers from Brooklyn and Staten Island outside the Court Square Diner, all holding Ramos for Mayor palm cards. They are all smiling.

It’s a new day in New York. Join us.

In Solidarity,

Jessica Ramos
