LGBTQ+ Stories You Should Know About
North Carolina Races Shake Up
North Carolina has been in the headlines – and unfortunately, it’s for LGBTQ+ bigotry and general hypocrisy. At the top of the ticket, an explosive CNN article revealed the destructive online posts [[link removed]] of notorious transphobe and homophobe Mark Robinson, who is currently running for Governor [[link removed]] .
Meanwhile, another candidate running for Superintendent of Public Instruction claimed the ‘plus’ in ‘LGBTQ+’ stood for ‘pedophilia [[link removed]] ’.
But hate like this doesn’t arise randomly out of a vacuum. In 2016, North Carolina enacted a hateful bathroom bill, launching national outrage and a partial repeal [[link removed]] . In 2023, the bathroom bills reared their ugly heads once again [[link removed]] , as a national effort to rollback LGBTQ+ rights swept the legislature [[link removed]] . Bigots in North Carolina successfully overrode the Governor’s veto [[link removed]] , passing a trio of anti-LGBTQ bills, including a “Don’t Say Gay” bill [[link removed]] . Robinson, notably, called for trans people to be arrested if they use the wrong bathroom [[link removed]] .
All the more reason to elect LGBTQ+ candidates at all levels in North Carolina – and protect our incumbent State Senator, Lisa Grafstein [[link removed]] . Lisa recently spoke out against new restrictions on LGBTQ+ rights in the legislature, making it clear that choice and LGBTQ+ rights are at risk this year [[link removed]] . Learn more about Lisa’s campaign and how you can help keep her voice in the legislature here [[link removed]] !

In Delaware, incumbent candidate Eric Morrison also pulled off a huge victory, earning nearly 60% of the vote [[link removed]] !
Even more recently, Andre Carroll WON his special election for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives [[link removed]] ! Exciting, Andre does not have an opponent in the fall [[link removed]] and is officially a Representative-elect [[link removed]] !
