John — ¡Hola! As Hispanic Heritage Month begins, I'm reaching out to ask for your urgent support. [[link removed]] Latina domestic workers, who are the backbone of so many households and communities, are facing a growing crisis and need our help more than ever.
Our August Domestic Workers Economic Situation Report* uncovered some alarming realities for Latina domestic workers:
👉🏽 18% of Spanish-speaking domestic workers were jobless in August , a sharp increase from previous months. Many are struggling to find work and provide for their families.
👉🏽 52% of domestic workers who did find jobs earned less than $15 per hour , far below a living wage.
👉🏽 68% of surveyed workers were underemployed , unable to find enough clients to make ends meet.
👉🏽 83% of these workers faced food insecurity in August alone , meaning they often didn’t know where their next meal would come from.
👉🏽 55% of these workers faced housing insecurity in August , meaning they often could not afford to pay their rent or mortgage or may be temporarily staying with friends or family, staying in shelters, or facing homelessness.
Latina domestic workers are not only excluded from basic workplace protections, but they’re also more vulnerable to exploitation due to their immigration status. This double burden is forcing far too many Latina women to live in the shadows, working grueling hours for meager pay, all while facing discrimination and abuse.
NDWA needs your help today [[link removed]] . We are on the frontlines, fighting for the rights and dignity of Latina domestic workers, but we cannot do it alone. Join our Care Giving Circle by making an annual gift of just $60 — your donation can be the lifeline these workers desperately need. [[link removed]]

The statistics are dire, but together, we can change the story for Latina domestic workers . Here’s how your support powers change [[link removed]] :
👉🏽 1:1 Support from Spanish-speaking advocates to ensure workers get immediate help in times of crisis.
👉🏽 Bilingual leadership training to empower domestic workers to stand up for their rights and protect themselves from exploitation.
👉🏽 Relentless advocacy at the highest levels of government to push for systemic change and ensure that Latina domestic workers are included in workplace protections like fair wages, safety standards, and protections from discrimination.
NDWA is working tirelessly to fix these broken systems that continue to oppress domestic workers. But to continue our fight, we need you with us. Can you join our Care Giving Circle by making an annual gift of just $60 to help protect the Latina domestic workers who are bearing the brunt of this crisis? [[link removed]]

Every donation [[link removed]] brings us closer to a world where Latina domestic workers are no longer invisible, but empowered to thrive. With your support, [[link removed]] they can continue to lift themselves up and gain the respect, recognition, and rights they deserve.
