As we continue to observe Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, we’re reminded of the vital importance of the work we do together. For 26 years, The Trevor Project has been a beacon of hope and support for LGBTQ+ young people, many of whom face unique challenges and risk factors that make them vulnerable to thoughts of suicide. The statistics from our 2024 U.S. National Survey ([link removed](i.e.e-newsletter)&utm_source=emailsegment-wholefile2&utm_campaign=suicidepreventionmonth) highlight why our mission is so crucial—more than 1 in 10 LGBTQ+ young people attempted suicide in the past year, and half of those who sought mental health care were unable to access it.

At The Trevor Project, we know that reaching out for help can be one of the hardest steps to take. That’s why we’re committed to being here 24/7, offering a lifeline ([link removed](i.e.e-newsletter)&utm_source=emailsegment-wholefile2&utm_campaign=suicidepreventionmonth) for LGBTQ+ young people who need support. Whether through our phone lines, chat, or text services, we provide a safe space where young people can be heard and validated by someone who understands.

We’ve also compiled a few essential resources ([link removed](i.e.e-newsletter)&utm_source=emailsegment-wholefile2&utm_campaign=suicidepreventionmonth) to help you and others navigate conversations about suicide prevention.

Suicide prevention is at the heart of everything we do. It’s why we continue to innovate, expand, and advocate—ensuring that every LGBTQ+ young person knows they are not alone, no matter how difficult things may seem. Every day, we strive to create a world where LGBTQ+ youth can thrive, supported by a community that cares deeply about their well-being. With your continued support, we can reach even more young people, offer them the hope they deserve, and work together to end suicide among LGBTQ+ youth. Together, we can and will make a difference.

Support from individuals like you enables The Trevor Project to continue our work to end LGBTQ+ youth suicide through our crisis services as well as the development of resources and guides like these to promote education and allyship.
