There is a lot of opportunity for fall wild turkey hunting
two hunters setting up a blind on the edge of a field
This fast-paced, engaging hunt is perfect for beginner hunters. Turkey hunting requires less gear than many other hunts and the small size makes it the easiest big game species to prepare for the dinner table. Wild turkeys are abundant and there is lots of opportunity throughout the state, making it easier to find a location close to home [ [link removed] ].
The Youth Fall Wild Turkey Hunting day is Saturday, September 14 and the season is open to all hunters Monday, September 16 - Thursday, November 7, 2024. Before heading afield, be sure to pair your hunting license with a turkey hunting permit [ [link removed] ].
Remember to always ask for permission when hunting on private land and to treat the land with respect. Access to private land is a gift, not a given. We hope you have a memorable fall hunting season.
