It's been a busy week here in Washington, but I wanted to
take a few seconds to reach out.

Between the presidential debates, Trump's twitter feed, and
the daily catastrophes that his administration brings, it's hard
to know where to act and what to do next. There's always another
crisis brewing.

The chaos and dysfunction of this administration makes it
difficult to know how to react and fight back.

As a proud Democrat leading a border community, I feel that
struggle. But there's a tangible way you can show support for
progressive immigration advocacy -- just by chipping in a few
bucks.

I'm facing an FEC deadline tomorrow at midnight

. That means everyone, and I mean everyone, can see exactly what
we have in the bank. If we show weak numbers, Washington talking
heads and operatives will take it as a sign that our common
sense, compassionate approach to immigration and gun reform and
affordable healthcare doesn't have support -- that our House
Democrats in California and across the nation don't have the
backing of American people.

I can't let that happen .

We're raising $14K and MaryAnne says we need to raise
another $5K by tomorrow at midnight to hit our goal. Can I count
on you to make it happen?
