John,
Since the news broke that two students and two teachers were killed in a
school shooting at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia one question
has been on everyone’s lips:
How could this happen? How the hell does a 14-year-old get ahold of an AR-15?
In the state of Georgia, there are:
1. No Risk Protection Order laws
2. No background checks required on all gun sales
3. No requirement to secure guns and keep them from kids
4. No regulation of assault weapons
There are gaping holes in Georgia’s gun laws, and the fact is, if someone
shows up to a school with an AR-15 ready to kill, it's already too late.
We have to act LONG BEFORE someone EVER has a chance to shoot us in our
classrooms. Ban assault weapons. Pass universal background checks and safe
storage laws. This is what it takes to end school shootings.
What more will it take for lawmakers to care and DO SOMETHING??
