<[link removed]>

Sen. Katie Britt is pushing a $3 million bill to make upgrades to the water
system in Union Springs through the Fiscal Year 2025 (FY25) Interior,
Environment, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act.

If approved by the full senate the project will include constructing a new
water supply production well and a 500,000-gallon elevated water storage tank.

An announcement from Britt said that the tank will ensure "consistent" water
pressure and water service at local care facilities that include the Spring
Manor Assisted Living Facility, the Bullock County Hospital, and the Fresenius
Kidney Dialysis Clinic.

Senator Britt secures $1.27 million in funding for Dothan ShotSpotter program

<[link removed]>

$1.257 million dollars could be going toward a new tool for Dothan law
enforcement and first responders.

The ShotSpotter Gunfire Location, Alert and Analysis System’s goal centers
itself around assisting response to violent crime in the city.

The detection services uses acoustic sensors to discover and locate gunfire.
It then reports that information to responding agencies in real time.

“The speed and accuracy of information makes a world of difference for law
enforcement officers and first responders when they’re working diligently to
protect and serve our communities,” said U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-AL), who
is helping with getting the funding for Dothan to go towards the system.

Plant

<[link removed]>

Sen. Katie Britt secured $1.97 million to make critical updates to the Bayou
La Batre Wastewater Treatment Plant.

These funds will help improve the safety, efficiency and reliability of the
plant.

Executive Director of Utilities Dan McCrory said securing the funds was a
process and the grant will impact the community as a whole.

“Being able to get this stuff either rebuilt, repaired or replaced is
environmentally sound,” McCrory said. “It’s good for long-term use to take care
of not only the bay, but for the Portersville Bay as a whole for everybody.”
