Rose is a former public school teacher and a mom of teenage triplets who fought to help successfully pass Ohio's Issue 1 (abortion rights).

Out of 99 House Districts in the entire state of Ohio, this race has been named the TOP Red (Republican) to Blue (Democrat) flip opportunity. In 2022, the Republican incumbent won by just 462 votes. This seat has never been held by a Democrat, but Rose knows she has what it takes to be the one to flip it.

After the fall of Roe v. Wade, it only took a few hours for the majority-male Ohio legislature to enact a 6-week abortion ban with no exceptions. One year later, voters responded by showing up in record-breaking numbers to reclaim their rights through a ballot initiative. The GOP supermajority in the Ohio State House immediately got to work undermining the rights Ohioans had just voted to protect; blocking access to reproductive healthcare in any other ways they could:

They passed laws forcing patients seeking abortions to have 2 separate appointments with their provider (this law has been temporarily blocked by a judge who ruled it unconstitutional earlier this week). The majority-male legislative body passed laws requiring women to have a state mandated “counseling” session and receive an ultrasound, and for patients under the age of 18 to have a parent or guardian present – or seek a judge’s PERMISSION to get an abortion.
