Everyone’s journey into public service is different. While that’s true for Speaker Joanna McClinton and myself, our stories have helped us both make history in the Commonwealth.

Just a few weeks after I became the first Black Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania, Joanna became the first woman speaker of the PA State House.

And before I was Lieutenant Governor, I had the honor of working alongside Joanna in the PA House. I can say without hesitation that she has always been a true champion for the people of Pennsylvania.

Whether she’s advocating for policies that uplift our communities, improving our education system, or ensuring that every Pennsylvanian has access to quality healthcare, Speaker McClinton is helping deliver on so many of the same issues I’m fighting for.
