We’re almost 24 hours away from our April end-of-month fundraising deadline, and still not quite at our goal of $50,000. I hope you’ll let me explain why this goal is so critical to our campaign in Mississippi.
In 2018, with a surge of grassroots support, I came closer to winning a U.S. Senate seat than any other Democrat in Mississippi since 1982. We lost by a single digit.

We did what nobody thought we’d come close to doing, and that’s a big reason why I made the decision to run for Senate again in 2020: I believe that with enough time, effort, and resources this time around, we can win. I believe in us.

But the only way we’ll flip another Senate seat and defeat Cindy Hyde-Smith this time around is by building the biggest and best campaign Mississippi has ever seen. That’s become harder to do in the middle of this pandemic, and it’s all the more reason why small-dollar online donations matter: They are directly fueling our people-powered campaign.
