Kamala Harris just released a [ [link removed] ]new ad based on her plan to go after bad
actors who price gouge families on everything from gas to groceries to
bank fees to prescriptions. This is both incredibly popular and good
policy – and a stark contrast to Donald Trump's plans for more billionaire
tax breaks.
The ad begins, "We all know costs are too high. But while corporations are
gouging families, Trump is focused on giving them tax cuts. But Kamala
Harris is focused on you."
Recent polling we've done with Data for Progress shows 87% of likely
voters support reducing the price of groceries, and 82% support cracking
down on corporations that price gouge families.

Last month, we sent a private memo to top Harris campaign staff
summarizing messaging recommendations based on economic polling and
research. The top recommendations included focusing on grocery prices and
a commitment to tackling corporate price gouging.
This shows why: When we ask people to rate 25 potential pain points in
their lives, grocery prices are by far the top concern for American
families:

The poll-tested messaging we have been championing focuses both on
cracking down on corporations that jack up the price of groceries and on
Trump’s record of cutting taxes for billionaires.
In fact, our best-testing message calls for “cracking down on corporations
that price gouge families on everything from groceries to gas to credit
card fees to prescription prices… Donald Trump and Republican politicians…
want to cut taxes for billionaires and giant corporations.”
BOOM! The new ad specifically cites the cost of groceries and housing,
saying “She’ll make groceries more affordable by cracking down on price
gouging.”
Bravo!!! This is super smart political positioning that people know will
improve their lives.
