Demand Cleaner Air at National Parks
When you visit national parks, you expect to be able to see the views. So it's super disappointing (and disgusting) when a bunch of nasty smog blocks the views at iconic parks like Arches, Bryce Canyon, Yellowstone, and Grand Teton. The EPA has proposed real pollution reductions at coal plants in Utah and Wyoming, which are some of the worst polluters in the country. Now we need to make sure the agency follows through.

Help Students Access National Lands for Free
On September 1, a new cohort of fourth graders and their families will become eligible to visit national parks, lands, and waters for free. This program, known as Every Kid Outdoors, has helped 1,105,805 students explore nature over the last nine years. But it will end in two years unless Congress passes the Every Kid Outdoors Act, a bill that permanently funds this crucial program and extends it to fifth graders.

Newest National Monument Honors Our Country's History and Diversity
Just before the Democratic National Convention, President Biden designated the Springfield 1908 Race Riot National Monument. This site fills a critical gap in the National Park Service, telling the stories of race riots and the founding of the NAACP.

EPA Issues Rare Emergency Ban on a Weed-Killing Pesticide
The EPA recently issued an emergency ban of the pesticide Dacthal, commonly used on grasses and crops to control weeds. For decades, research has consistently shown that Dacthal poses severe health risks to babies in utero, including low birth weight, impaired brain development, and impaired motor skills. So why has it remained on the market this long?
