Eleven members of our Elected Officials Network took on New York City for our first Electeds Site Visit (ESV)! 🗽Our ESV’s are designed to allow for crucial in-person time with other elected NALpistas to learn about current issues and policy solutions that impact New American communities.
From visiting important sites like Ellis Island to connecting with our friends at National Day Laborer Organizing Network [[link removed]] and New Immigrant Community Empowerment [[link removed]] and hearing first hand stories from the people supporting recent arrivals to New York City, we were reminded of the importance of advocating for and advancing immigrants and their rights and how elected officials can bring these insights and solutions back to their own communities. 📸 Be sure to check out our recap post for more highlights!
