Our 2024 Narrative Nation report went out earlier last week! Our research explores how organizations and candidates alike can use customized messaging to engage, inspire, and empower New Americans in the democratic process 🌟 Get an inside look at some of our key takeaways and how you can implement these own recommendations into your own work today.

Eleven members of our Elected Officials Network took on New York City for our first Electeds Site Visit (ESV)! 🗽Our ESV’s are designed to allow for crucial in-person time with other elected NALpistas to learn about current issues and policy solutions that impact New American communities.

From visiting important sites like Ellis Island to connecting with our friends at National Day Laborer Organizing Network and New Immigrant Community Empowerment and hearing first hand stories from the people supporting recent arrivals to New York City, we were reminded of the importance of advocating for and advancing immigrants and their rights and how elected officials can bring these insights and solutions back to their own communities. 📸 Be sure to check out our recap post for more highlights!

Last weekend, we hosted our 2024 Ready to Lead® AAPI National training in Raleigh, North Carolina! We spent an inspiring time digging deep to understand ourselves and how we can become the leaders our communities deserve. We’re heartened by our participants and the boundless spirit and drive they possess. We can’t wait to see where this training will take them!

Here are some of the amazing things our alumni have done recently:

  • Nasri Sobh (Ready to Lead® Midwest and Ready to Win® 2024) announced his candidacy for Dearborn School Board in Michigan!

  • Angela Tsai (Ready to Lead® AAPI Women 2024) launched her campaign to run for Borough Council in Mountain Lakes, New Jersey!

Know someone who should be included in this list? Let us know! We're so proud of our NAL family for taking action to create a stronger, more inclusive democracy and would love to give everyone a shoutout!

Help fight systemic white supremacy by supporting our mission to get more women, immigrants, and underrepresented Americans on the ballot and into power.
