In this newsletter: Since 2018, fatal overdoses have tripled among Allegheny County’s Black residents, while overdoses among white residents have plateaued. The Department of Human Services is working to make treatment more accessible. ([link removed])
Allegheny County Council has called a public hearing Sept. 18 ([link removed]) to engage stakeholders and the public on the Climate Action Plan’s development and progress. In July, advocates complained to council the public had been largely sidelined from a rushed bidding process for developing the plan that favored larger contractors.
