In this newsletter: Since 2018, fatal overdoses have tripled among Allegheny County’s Black residents, while overdoses among white residents have plateaued. The Department of Human Services is working to make treatment more accessible.

Allegheny County Council has called a public hearing Sept. 18 to engage stakeholders and the public on the Climate Action Plan’s development and progress. In July, advocates complained to council the public had been largely sidelined from a rushed bidding process for developing the plan that favored larger contractors.
