The issue of women in politics shouldn’t be an issue - it should just be a fact. And it certainly shouldn’t be a weapon to diminish and weaken our democracy. We can’t accept a system where men have a head start and the finish line is placed out of reach for many women.

NOW’s multi-issue agenda is unlike other groups—we’re working to empower activists, strengthen coalitions, and build support at the grassroots, in the states, and at the national level for core issues like reproductive rights and justice, economic justice, ending violence against women, racial justice, LGBTQIA+ rights and constitutional equality.
As the political season heats up, I’m asking you to keep in mind the essential mission of NOW, and our core strength. So much of our success depends on the continued support and activism of members like you.
We need your help to promote policy, not politics.
Together, we can fight for women’s rights at the ballot box, in the courts and state legislatures, workplaces and schools—every corner and every aspect of our society.

More and more, people—particularly young people--are motivated not by partisanship or personal attacks but by their values, such as the right to vote, reproductive rights, gender equality, pay fairness, and safety in school and the workplace.
Those are the cornerstones of our democracy-- and women can be just as vigorous defenders of democracy as anyone.
NOW is working nationally and at the grassroots level from coast to coast, to show how when we’re fighting for things like abortion rights, economic justice, and bodily autonomy, we’re fighting for democracy!
If we say that democracy is the “government of the people, by the people and for the people,” then that must include all the people. All of us. Not just, as the Founders believed, other White men like themselves.
