Congresswoman Tenney's Weekly Newsletter   Have questions? Contact Me Here   The FEC Must Investigate ActBlue As the co-chair of the House Election Integrity Caucus, I am deeply concerned about reports of fraudulent donations through ActBlue, a fundraising platform used to support left-leaning and Democratic nonprofits and politicians, undermining the integrity of our elections. ActBlue's decision not to require CVV numbers for donations raises serious concerns about the potential of fraudulent activity and foreign interference in our electoral system. This is on top of the extremely troubling reports of unauthorized use of individuals' names and addresses to create fraudulent accounts and make substantial donations without their knowledge. This week, I sent a letter to the FEC demanding an investigation into the abnormal transaction activity related to donations to ActBlue. It is imperative that the FEC thoroughly investigates these claims and reviews ActBlue's security measures to ensure compliance with the law. Since January 2021, there have been over 9.9 MILLION illegal immigrant encounters nationwide. Many states, including New York, have provided illegal immigrants with driver’s licenses. This is why it is crucial that we safeguard our democratic process and protect the integrity of our elections. I recently supported the Safeguard American Vote Eligibility Act, to uphold and strengthen our election laws by preventing non-citizens from voting in our elections. Voting is one of our most sacred rights and responsibilities as American citizens, and I will always fight for real policy solutions that ensure: one American = one vote. This harmful anti-American energy policy has caused prices to skyrocket and American energy production to stall, threatening our national security and economic competitiveness. This week, I introduced the Federal Electric Vehicle Mandate Prohibition Act to prohibit these foolish EV mandates. I stand firmly against the efforts of the Biden administration and Democrat-run states across the country that are working to ban the affordable gas-powered vehicles we rely on, forcing expensive EV mandates down our throats. As your representative in Congress, my top priority is championing legislative initiatives that benefit you and your families. Each week, I review numerous bills and letters, engaging in thorough discussions with members of our community to determine which actions to support and address your needs. Below is a bill I recently cosponsored. Cosponsored Accelerating Kids’ Access to Care Act: This bill establishes a new pathway for pediatric providers to enroll in multiple state Medicaid programs to ensure seamless access to care for New York families living in close proximity to other states. This bill focuses solely on the screening and enrollment of providers, without addressing the authorization of care by out-of-state providers or the payment rates for such care, which remain under the jurisdiction of state Medicaid agencies. Standing Alongside NY-24 Volunteer Firefighters in Seneca, Jefferson and Oswego Earlier this year, OSHA proposed a new safety and health standard to replace the current Fire Brigades Standard, introducing 22 additional regulations for all fire departments. These proposed changes include mandatory facility upgrades and heightened training requirements. The unyielding nature of these rules would extend to volunteer fire departments in New York, imposing significant financial and operational strains on these essential services. I have met with with volunteer fire departments across New York's 24th District, including Niagara County, Seneca County, Oswego County, and Jefferson County, to address the impact of these proposed regulations which threaten the closure of many volunteer fire departments in NY-24. These closures would leave our communities vulnerable, slowing response time for emergency services and increasing the risk to lives and property. Thank you to all the local volunteer firefighters in our community who joined us to advocate against these regulations. I remain committed to ensuring our first responders have the resources they need to keep us safe. Hosting a Manufacturing Roundtable in Jefferson County Thank you to everyone who joined us at our Jefferson County Manufacturing Roundtable this week! We had a valuable discussion on critical issues, including how we can create quality jobs right here in our community and promote innovation that allows our manufacturing sector to flourish. I am grateful for the input on how we can strengthen our manufacturing sector through action in Congress. Visiting the YMCA in Canandaigua It was great visiting the YMCA in Canandaigua this week and witnessing its incredible impact on our community daily! Thank you to the Chief Development Officer, Andrew Powers, Branch Executive Jason Gottfried, a member of the New York State YMCAs' alliance, Maggie Dickson, and the entire staff for all you do to support our community's health and well-being. Constituent Casework Success Story: Delivering Results for NY-24 A constituent recently reached out about difficulties with the Federal Employee Retirement System and collecting her retirement. Our team worked tirelessly to ensure that she received the appropriate payments. We received the following message upon the conclusion of her case: “Thank you for hiring staff that are professional and caring to your constituents when they have a very serious issue! Ed Hickey was constantly sending OPM & FERS requests for updates and action in order for me to move forward in collecting my Federal Retirement! He never gave up and did his best to get through the red tape in a timely manner. He was determined to help me.
