And we’re saying thank you to all our school nurses View as Webpage In a few short weeks, the world as we know it has seemingly turned upside down. Suddenly schools are practicing distance learning, and that means school nurses need to change how we help our students too. The NASN vision is that all students are healthy, safe and ready to learn, and our mission is to optimize student health and learning by advancing the practice of school nursing -- whether we are in our physical school buildings or not. Amid all the chaos in the world right now, NASN is here for you. We are #NASNStrong! We are providing key resources for you on the COVID-19 issues related to school nurses, including: Guidance for School Nurses to Safely Send and Receive Resources Between School and Home During COVID-19 Federal Guidance for Students with Disabilities Teaching Children and Families Regarding COVID-19 Ideas for School Nurse Activities During the COVID-19 Pandemic Talking Points for School Nurses NASN is here for you on the advocacy front as well. We wrote a letter to Ranking Member of the Health, Education, Labor and Pension Committee, Sen. Patty Murray to consider adding 10,000 more school nurses for the upcoming school year. And, NASN sent a letter to the President of the United States requesting the expansion of school nurses be included in any proposal crafted to help re-open the United State's economy and schools. We are committed to our mission now more than ever, and we are here for you: all school nurses. We are #NASNStrong. Thanks for everything you do. Be well.
