[- Fox News anchor Julie Banderas,]([link removed]) taking a strong stand against presidents cooking things.

Vice President Kamala Harris put climate change front and center in her presidential campaign when she tapped Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) as her running mate. Advocates are hailing his green credentials.

- “Walz is a really strong choice for vice president,” Stevie O’Hanlon, the communications director for the youth-led climate organization, The Sunrise Movement, told What A Day. “I think on climate and other issues, [Walz] is someone that can really appeal to young voters, to working class voters — people Harris really needs to win over that Biden was struggling with.”

- Walz earned a reputation as one of the country’s most climate-forward governors during his two terms as Minnesota governor. He inked more than 40 climate initiatives into law last year. Perhaps the most notable requires Minnesota to get all of its electricity from wind, solar and other carbon-free sources by 2040. Other measures include tax rebates for electric vehicles, support for E.V. charging stations, new green energy production facilities, and investments in green job creation. In 2019, Walz established a climate change sub-cabinet in his administration. In Congress he also [voted for a sweeping climate bill in 2009]([link removed]) (though the plan later died in the Senate).

- Walz promoted climate-friendly policies in part by touting their economic benefits, O’Hanlon said. “When he signed the 100% renewable or carbon free by 2040 bill, he did so at a labor center, and had a wide range of labor unions there, including some that often are skeptical of climate action,” O’Hanlon said. “He won them over by making the case that this is actually going to help workers.”

Other climate advocates declared themselves similarly psyched about his addition to the ticket.

-  “Tim Walz had the best climate record of any of the VP contenders and has been unafraid to take on Big Oil,” Jamie Henn, of Fossil Free Media, [wrote on X]([link removed]). “I am all in for Walz,” Gina McCarthy, former Biden White House national climate advisor and current co-chair of the climate coalition America Is All In, [told NPR]([link removed]). “He can't be bought by the fossil fuel industry.”

- “It's a whole different ball game right now,” O’Hanlon said. “Harris has an opportunity to actually have genuine enthusiasm for her campaign in a way that I don't think that young people have maybe experienced in our adult life.”

The Trump campaign, by contrast, has pointed at Walz’s green credentials as a sign that he’s a far lefty lawmaker with dangerously progressive views. “Walz is obsessed with spreading California’s dangerously liberal agenda far and wide,” Karoline Leavitt, a spokesperson for the Trump campaign, told [the New York Times]([link removed]).

It can be so frustrating to see what the world should look like, and feeling like each day it gets further and further out of reach. But, as Stacey Abrams would say, “One piece isn’t going to fix the whole puzzle but that doesn’t mean we can’t do something, somewhere, soon.“ On her new Crooked show Assembly Required with Stacey Abrams, Stacey is joined by organizing experts and progressive leaders to break down the biggest issues in politics right now, crowdsourcing solutions and sharing stories of action that will make you feel less alone and help motivate your friends and family to make a difference. You can listen to the trailer right now, wherever you get your podcasts. And be sure to subscribe so you don’t miss the first episode of Assembly Required with Stacy Abrams dropping August 15th.

It is a bad sign for the Trump campaign when it's even lost the confidence of the Neo Nazi Beta trolls.

[Trump also lost podcaster Joe Rogan]([link removed]), who said RFK Jr. is “the only one who makes sense to me,” while stopping short of endorsing the Kennedy family scion. Trump fired back on Truth Social, posting: “It will be interesting to see how loudly Joe Rogan gets BOOED the next time he enters the UFC Ring??? MAGA2024” Apparently RFK Jr. is really making waves after revealing his brain worm and that freezer full of roadkill meat.
