Are you frustrated that you don’t have a voice at work? Are you a freelancer who rarely gets paid on time? Are you working 2 or 3 gigs just to make rent? You’re not alone.

The Workplace Organizing Collective is a group of Seattle DSA members, including experienced labor organizers, who meet every week to teach each other concrete, effective organizing skills to build power at work.

This collective is open to everyone who wants to improve the lives of their families and communities by organizing for economic justice.

** 🌹🌹 DISTRICT MEET & GREETS AND SOCIALS 🌹🌹
------------------------------------------------------------
Curious to meet some people before getting involved? No sweat! We've all been the new person in the room and we want you to be comfortable at our meetings.

District 3 Meeting: The Power of Protest: Lessons from the movements in Hong Kong & Puerto Rico? ([link removed])
August 14 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Join us at the next Seattle DSA District 3 meeting to discuss what lessons we can learn from the mass movements of millions in Puerto Rico and Hong Kong that toppled a hated leader and stopped an oppressive law. Can movements like these happen here in the US? What are the most effective forms of struggle? Mutual aid or mass collective action? Is it ultra- left in the US to attempt to organize mass action, like in Hong Kong and Puerto Rico? What role can DSA play?

Seattle DSA District 4 Happy Hour ([link removed])
August 15 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Join us for an informal happy hour at Floating Bridge. We won’t have structured discussion – just time to socialize with fellow socialists and the socialist-curious.

Floating Bridge graciously said they’d reserve some tables for us – likely on the upper level of the brewery near the bathrooms. Please note that this space is also open to people under 21. They have a range of non-alcoholic drinks available in addition to their beer selection (kombucha, ginger soda, root beer, etc). We’ll have snacks there, too. (Feel free to bring additional snacks, but no pressure to do so. The brewery is fine with us bringing any food items in – just no outside drinks.)

DSA members from other districts are also welcome to attend. This event is open to comrades, neighbors, friends, and family of all backgrounds – plus ones are strongly encouraged!

The brewery is wheelchair accessible on both levels. The bathrooms are not gender-neutral.
August Social ([link removed])
August 16 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Have you been dying to talk to your fellow Seattle DSA members about the primary results or the convention votes? Come grab a drink, chat, celebrate, and/or commiserate with your comrades at the Twilight Exit Bar!
