signed a bill into law that guarantees free school breakfast and lunch for
students regardless of family income. Minnesota was also the first state
in the country to codify abortion rights after the Supreme Court
overturned Roe v Wade.

Governor Tim Walz has been a fighter for equality. He signed an executive
order protecting transgender Minnesotans’ rights to gender affirming care.
As a teacher at a high school, Walz helped found its very first
Gay-Straight Alliance group.
