Hey John -

Dan Crenshaw here. I hope you are well.

Millions of Americans have lost their jobs, and Democrat politicians in Washington couldn’t put politics aside to give needed relief for small businesses for weeks. Thankfully, Congress passed a bill on Thursday to replenish the small business relief fund, but this should have happened much sooner.

Back here in Houston, I met with Texans on the front lines of this fight, working hard to expand our testing capacity and delivering food to people in need.

Now, here’s your brief:
STOP PLAYING POLITICS WITH SMALL BUSINESS RELIEF

[link removed](CAMPAIGN_BRIEF_04_25_2020)

You must be fed up with politicians in Washington playing partisan games with coronavirus relief. I am too. It's infuriating.

We should have been in Washington weeks ago to have a non-controversial vote to simply replenish the funding of the small business relief fund. But Nancy Pelosi and the far left held the American people hostage, and delayed urgent relief for more than a week.

Thankfully, the Paycheck Protection Program has been funded, but it shouldn’t have taken us this long. I’m continuing to call on my colleagues in Congress to put politics aside and put the country first. CLICK HERE OR ON THE IMAGE TO WATCH. ([link removed](CAMPAIGN_BRIEF_04_25_2020))
INCREASING TESTING IN HOUSTON WILL GET US BACK TO NORMAL

[link removed](CAMPAIGN_BRIEF_04_25_2020)

Boosting our testing capacity is critical to identifying future outbreaks and reopening the economy to get people back to work. We’re making great progress here in Texas to do just that thanks to hardworking people on the frontlines. I saw that firsthand when I visited a federal testing site recently. We have increased testing capacity from 250 per day to 500 per day at each federal testing site. We’ve also conducted more than 23,000 tests at federal sites in Houston, and even more are being conducted at private testing sites. We can begin to open businesses and return to normal by ramping up testing across the country, which I wrote about in my recent op-ed in the Houston Chronicle. HOUSTON MOBILIZES

[link removed](CAMPAIGN_BRIEF_04_25_2020)
Houstonians are mobilizing to help one another. The Houston Independent School District has spent this month focusing on distributing food to the Houston community in a critical way. I visited the Hexser T. Holliday Food Services Support Facility to see the work being done to help feed our community.

Each site has the capability of packaging up to 500 bags of food per day. That’s 15,000 pounds of food. This is what Houston Strong is all about: coming together to support our neighbors in difficult times. CLICK HERE OR ON THE IMAGE TO WATCH. ([link removed](CAMPAIGN_BRIEF_04_25_2020))
WE NEED TO SAVE THE ENERGY INDUSTRY

[link removed](CAMPAIGN_BRIEF_04_25_2020)
Saving the energy industry is more important than ever after oil prices dropped to historic levels this past week. In Texas, we know that this is about more than rescuing the energy sector. It is about rescuing jobs and livelihoods.

It was disgusting to see the left cheer ([link removed](CAMPAIGN_BRIEF_04_25_2020)) the demise of American energy and the American jobs that go with it. Keep this in mind: If American energy independence is lost, it will be replaced with dirty Russian and Saudi oil and gas. That’s bad for our economy & our environment.

I wrote an op-ed in the Washington Examiner recently detailing how we can save this critical industry by enacting an American energy policy. CLICK HERE TO READ THE OP-ED. ([link removed](CAMPAIGN_BRIEF_04_25_2020))
HOW CAN WE HOLD CHINA ACCOUNTABLE?

[link removed](CAMPAIGN_BRIEF_04_25_2020)

More evidence is emerging each day that lays blame for this global pandemic at the feet of President Xi and the Chinese Communist Party. Their lies and coverup allowed coronavirus to spread across the world, costing countless American lives and livelihoods. So how do we make China pay?

In a recent op-ed with Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR), I discuss one potential solution: allowing Americans to sue the Chinese government over coronavirus. This will empower American citizens to seek justice against the communist regime for their malicious actions that caused incredible pain around the world. CLICK HERE OR ON THE IMAGE TO READ MORE.
