STOP PLAYING POLITICS WITH SMALL BUSINESS RELIEF



 

You must be fed up with politicians in Washington playing partisan games with coronavirus relief. I am too. It's infuriating.

We should have been in Washington weeks ago to have a non-controversial vote to simply replenish the funding of the small business relief fund. But Nancy Pelosi and the far left held the American people hostage, and delayed urgent relief for more than a week.

Thankfully, the Paycheck Protection Program has been funded, but it shouldn’t have taken us this long. I’m continuing to call on my colleagues in Congress to put politics aside and put the country first. CLICK HERE OR ON THE IMAGE TO WATCH.

INCREASING TESTING IN HOUSTON WILL GET US BACK TO NORMAL


 

Boosting our testing capacity is critical to identifying future outbreaks and reopening the economy to get people back to work. We’re making great progress here in Texas to do just that thanks to hardworking people on the frontlines. I saw that firsthand when I visited a federal testing site recently. We have increased testing capacity from 250 per day to 500 per day at each federal testing site. We’ve also conducted more than 23,000 tests at federal sites in Houston, and even more are being conducted at private testing sites. We can begin to open businesses and return to normal by ramping up testing across the country, which I wrote about in my recent op-ed in the Houston Chronicle.
