For our August issue, Ryan Cooper draws on the distinctly American philosophical tradition of pragmatism and the social democratic policies of the Nordic countries to map out how socialism can function here and what our institutions would look like. With a vibrant labor movement, a proper welfare state, a rebuilt regulatory state and the democratization of property, he argues, socialists can fight for an agenda that America can accept.
