That’s right, CA-13 was decided by just 554 votes in 2022 and it took almost a MONTH to declare a winner.
If this district (and just 4 other razor-thin districts) had landed blue in 2022, we never would’ve had a Speaker Kevin McCarthy or Speaker Mike Johnson [!!]

CA-13 was divided almost exactly down the middle, with the final result coming down to less than 1%. It was one of the final handful of seats that decided control of the U.S. House .
That’s why our team at the California Democratic Party isn’t leaving anything open to chance. We’ve already opened a regional office in CA-13 and are holding numerous volunteer events to knock on doors, make phone calls, and reach undecided voters.
But with more and more people tuning into the 2024 election, we need to ramp up our efforts NOW. That’s why we are aiming to raise $7,500 by midnight tonight for our Swing Seat Fund.
